Monday Morning

Monday a.m. after three weekend services, a conference on Thurs. and the LHC Dntn taping on Wed.--I love what I get to do. And I'm tired.

So, this a.m.'s post is a Mark Cuban blog post from last week: How to Get Rich. Now, Cuban's borderline crazy but that doesn't mean he's wrong. You could also call this post "How to be Financially Smart."

Read Cuban's post and comment here with your thoughts about what he says and what's going on in our economy right now.

  1. Quotes from Mr. Cuban….. “ it is destined to be boom and bust. Booms are when the smart people sell. Busts are when rich people started on their path to wealth…
The question is whether you have the discipline to be ready when it happens for you ?” God works this way at times.

He lets us hit rock bottom(the bust) and then He helps us up the path to fully connecting with Him again(boom). This discipline thing plays a very strong role during both, boom and bust. Do we have it and the faith to continue in both of these situations? At times like these I rediscover the power of prayer and praise.

In my financial world one advisor is using statements like “lack of guidance on corporate earnings”, “ surprises and stock gyrations” “opaque company balance sheets the companies themselves seem to revalue every few months”. A CEO of one fund company is using words like “falling rocks from the cliffs”, “de-leverage” and “the new normal”. God can be like this sometimes.

His definition of normal is often not the world’s. Sin muddles our balance sheets and keeps us from seeking His guidance in rough times . How do we value the Spirit in times like these? Is God's effectiveness, His power, leveraged by the Spirit? I hope so. Mac, keep hoping and praying.

I guess I’ll go back and see if the the market stayed below 9,000…gulp.
