C3, Pt. 1

Next week a large contingent of LHC staff is going to be attending the Creative Church Conference (C3) at Fellowship Church in Grapevine, TX. It's an exciting time as so many of our staff will get to see LHC's roots, share and grow through the people who'll be speaking, and we'll get some valuable time away outside of our normal routines and patterns.

C3 is one of the few conferences that I make it a point to attend. It always encourages and empowers me to do what we get to do in ministry, at the same time that it challenges and convicts me to change some of the ways that we do it.

I'd love to hear from you: Comment back and let me know where do you go to learn, grow, and recharge?

  1. Mac, great question. For me it is a matter of quieting my mind. There is so much electronic stimulation in the world with emails, cell phones, text, internet, TV, TIVO, on and on. I have to re-charge my battery by eliminating all the technology and simply quieting my mind. Second is taking the thoughts and putting them in a journal and on paper. That seems to work best for me. But thanks for the question and having me think about it more.

  2. Looking forward to hearing you speak and meeting some of your team Mac! This is my third year at C3. I love it. I have also enjoyed Catalyst. We took our entire team this past year. It is totally different from C3. One of the major differences is that most of the speakers aren't Pastors. That doesn't make it better...just different. I would love to hit the Hillsong Church Conference someday as well.

  5. Hi Mac,

I am new to the church, and it has really brought me closer to god. With that I have started reading the bible (first time ever). Some of it I understand but there are some passages I just don't get or think "this can't mean exactly what it says". I don't know if there is a forum for those unanswered questions... My husband said to ask you, but I don't think you have that much time between surmmons.

Is there a way, blog or such, that questions could be asked and answered?

Thank you for everything you do and god bless you!

  6. Chris, I'm the same way. One exception for me is movies--I get recharged through a good flick.

John, it'll be great to see you too. I'm so grateful your dad is doing well.

Sprite, thank you--I wasn't fishing for the compliment, but you made my day.

Pete, thanks for the kind words. Our video team led by John Fones is really amazing.
